What we take for Granted

Since I last posted it has come to my attention how much I take for granted in my life.

How about you? What are the things that you take for granted?

When life is going well and we are mindlessly going through the motions of what

we call life we are lulled into taking things for granted.

We belive that things will be constant and we become complacent.

Well Hurricane Ike hit us right between the eyes.

When you walk into a room you expect to be able to turn on the light.

When the temperature is ninety degrees outside you expect

the AC to come on.

When you open the refrigerator you expect it to be cold inside.

When you go into your closet you expect to be able to turn on the lights.

Well I could go on, but I think you get the point.

Until you no longer have something you easily take things for granted.

I now ask myself, “Do I take God for granted?”

Am I only aware of his presence when I need a prayer to be answered.

Is God my ICE; that is In Case of Emergency.

I invite you to consider all the things in your life that you take for granted.

Ask yourself what your life would be like if

they were no longer part of your life.
